Ingredients

Instructions

  • Place 2 cups of wild rice into a strainer and rinse under cold water.
  • Place the rinsed wild rice into an Instant Pot.
  • Pour 4 cups of water over the wild rice and stir until submerged.
  • Add ¼ tsp. of kosher salt to the Instant Pot and stir until completely combined.
  • Plug in the Instant Pot, place the cover on top and make sure it is in a locked position and the valve is in the sealed position. Hit the 'Manual' or 'Pressure Cook' setting and set the time for 30 minutes.
  • Cook for 30 minutes and allow for 10-15 minutes of natural release time. Feel free to release the steam vent to release any remaining pressure after this time.
  • Fluff the wild rice with a fork and allow to sit for a minute or two to absorb any extra water. Serve right away in your favorite recipes or freeze until needed.

Notes

Be sure to use Wild Rice and not a quick-cook wild rice or wild rice blend.
Feel free to cut the recipe in half if needed.
Stove top recipes call for a 3:1 water to wild rice ratio. This Instant Pot Wild Rice recipe uses a 2:1 ratio - 2 cups of water to 1 cup of wild rice.
