Equipment

Ingredients

For The Burgers:

For The Dill Aioli:

  • cup mayo
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 2 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 2 Tbsp. fresh dill or 2 tsp. dried dill
  • pinch kosher salt
  • pinch pepper

Instructions

For The Burgers:

  • Remove the frozen turkey burgers from the package and place on a baking sheet.
  • Sprinkle one side of the burgers evenly with ¼ tsp. each garlic and onion powder, along with ⅛ tsp. each kosher salt and pepper. Flip the burgers over and sprinkle the second side with ¼ tsp. each garlic and onion powder, and another ⅛ tsp. each kosher salt and pepper.
  • Generously spray air fryer basket with a cooking spray that is safe for use in air fryers. Be sure to use a brand that is free of aerosols or propellants, so that it does not damage your air fryer.
  • Place as many frozen turkey patties as can fit in your air fryer basket (make sure not to overcrowd the basket or overlap the patties).
Each model and brand of air fryer is different and the amount of patties that fit in the air fryer will vary. Feel free to fit as many as can fit in your air fryer comfortably.
  • Place the spiced burgers in the air fryer basket, close it, and cook for 10 minutes on the first side at 380 degrees Fahrenheit. After 10 minutes, remove the basket and flip the burgers. Cook for an additional 10 minutes on the second side.
  • For the cheese: Remove the basket when there is 1 minute of cook time remaining. Place a slice of cheese on each burger, return the basket, and cook for the remaining minute. This will completely melt the cheese.
Alternately, you can cook them for the full amount of time and place a slice of cheese on each burger after removing them from the air fryer.
The burgers are done when the internal temperature reads 165 degrees Fahrenheit. This can be checked using a food thermometer.

For The Dill Aioli:

  • Mince 2 cloves of garlic.
  • Mince 2 Tbsp. fresh dill (or fresh herb of choice).
  • Add ⅓ cup mayo to a small bowl, along with 2 Tbsp. lemon juice, the minced garlic, 2 Tbsp. freshly minced dill (or herb of choice) or 2 tsp. dried dill (or dried herb of choice), and a pinch of kosher salt and pepper.
  • Stir all of these ingredients until completely combined and transfer to the fridge until ready to use.
  • To Serve: Toast gluten free buns (or regular buns if not gluten free) and drizzle them with a generous amount of the dill aioli. Place a cooked burger patty on each bun and top with sliced tomatoes and lettuce (optional).

Notes

You can make as many or as few burgers as you like. Be sure to adjust the seasoning and toppings accordingly, depending on how many burgers you make.
These burgers can be topped any way you like. See copy above for burger topping ideas.
Make sure that the brand of turkey burgers used is gluten free if gluten is an issue for you.
Cooking times will vary depending on the type of air fryer used. The best method for telling when turkey burgers are done is to test the internal temperature. The safe internal temperature for turkey is 165 degrees Fahrenheit and can be tested using a food thermometer.
